The cybersecurity landscape for home networking changed dramatically this year. As concerns over supply chain security continue to grow, the FCC placed foreign produced consumer WiFi routers on its Covered List, creating new requirements for router manufacturers seeking to introduce new products into the U.S. market. The goal is clear: strengthen America's communications infrastructure by ensuring greater transparency, security, and trust throughout the networking supply chain.

Today, we are proud to announce that Gryphon has successfully received FCC Conditional Approval for our Gryphon WiFi routers.

This approval represents an important milestone for Gryphon and validates the work we have done to build a trusted, security first networking platform.

What FCC Conditional Approval Means

The FCC's Covered List rules require foreign produced consumer routers to undergo additional review before receiving equipment authorization for sale in the United States. Manufacturers may apply for a Conditional Approval by demonstrating transparency into their corporate structure, supply chain, security practices, and plans for expanding U.S. manufacturing and operations.  If they don't meet the requirements, they cannot approve new routers for sale in the US.  

By receiving this approval, Gryphon routers are exempt from the ban and remain eligible for FCC equipment authorization, allowing us to continue bringing secure networking products to American families. The FCC recently updated its Covered List to include Gryphon's Parental Control WiFi Router among the devices that have received Conditional Approval.   This is a very small list of trusted WiFi router suppliers.  See the full list here.
